Amin Zahir was appointed Head of Trafigura’s Metals and Minerals Trading in November 2015. He joined Trafigura in January 1997 in operations with a focus on Eastern Europe in copper, lead and zinc concentrates and started trading the same regions and commodities two years later.
He then headed zinc and lead concentrates trading from 2005 to 2010. Amin left Trafigura in September 2010 to take a sabbatical before re-joining three and a half years later in May 2014 as Head of Refined Metal Trading. He left the company in June 2021.
